I just received this message from a Red Tent Facilitator.
“Aurora, in the past two years, I’ve watched you pendulum swing back and forth….. you might not want to continue advertising that…it’s normal to go through a lot when you are young, but you want to project stability.”
Here is my response:

Dear Red Tent Facilitator.
I’m not sure how you host your Red Tent,
but to me the Red Tent is a safe space for women to show up as they are.
To share their mess. To take off their masks. To see their shadows as the marks of a warrior.
When we reveal our truth and are witnessed, we realize that others are going through similar things– and we help each other evolve.

If you are telling me that I “should” project stability to hold a safe container for women. I will tell you, the safest container I can hold is to show up passionately REAL.
It is my JOB as the facilitator to embody “the mess” so they can embrace theirs.
It is my job as a facilitator to show up as powerful, so they can be powerful too.
It is my job as a facilitator to show up authentic in my wounds, so they can share their wounds.
I choose to be 100% myself, so they learn being unique is important.

If you are telling me I “should” project stability to be socially acceptable for my own sake. Thank you for your concern.
I’ve never been good at following social cultural norms that perpetuate collective wounds.
My Red Tents attract 1,000s of women.
I have trained 300 women how to facilitate the Red Tent in the last year.
I have created a world-wide network because, what you see as “instability” i see as Power.
Good luck with your Red Tent.
And if would like coaching to support your Red Tent community, let me know.
Always,
Aurora Rae
