I want to say thank you to the simple women, who never ~
ask too many questions.
Always do what they are told.
Try to fit in.
Speak when they are spoken to.

Thank you! for never challenging motherhood.
Or your husband Or your workplace.

It doesn’t bother you ~
that the world continuously puts you into boxes.
That you are rarely appreciated.
That you are often projected upon
& that you are used as a tool.

Men have taken over every institution, and you try to join in.

You don’t feel the other women SCREAMING.
Because of the destruction of nature,
the dismantling of our communities,
the desecration of women’s spiritual practices,
the war on our bodies…

… Sister, I wish I more like you….
But I’m afraid that’s impossible.

I always hear them screaming!
I watch the imbalances.
I spend every waking moment triggered
and challenged by a world that does not make sense to me.

I’m a walking time bomb,
blowing up the realities of people trying to conform.

I’m sorry I’m not safe. But I’m REAL.

Our demons danced with each other.

There was no shame in this allowance.
It felt ancient. Primordial. True.

I was more connected to source then, than I’ve ever felt trying to be… better.

I wanted him to be all of himself.
And he embraced me for me.

We touched the fires together
and it allowed us to speak our truth with certainty.

I’ve always been married to darkness,
which I believe makes me more light.

I think-
The illusions of our time stem from the need to control each other.
And so, we control ourselves.

I’m not a fan of chaos.
But I’m also not afraid of it.

I have a strong inner guidance.
And I lead from my heart.
My mind is rational.

And these qualities keep me balanced,
as i let myself be free.

I use art as ritual tool to anchor what I desire in my life.

Through building altars to love, to sex, to birth, to deities, to my ancestors…
to transformation!
I turn what is stale in my life into something more passionate.

The most essential tool to an Art Witch is her “Book of Shadows” which contains her visions, her recipes,
her tools for transformation, and all her notes about what makes her come ALIVE.

An activity we may do in Art Witch circle is craft our Books of Shadows, while learning about the magick of intention,
our herstory as women, honoring the unseen, and giving voice to our emotional shadows so that
we may create an art book that is riddled with AUTHENTICITY.

Sometimes emotions are hard to put into words.

I learned early on in our relationship –
that if I put a paint brush in Adam’s hands when he is emotional,
I’ll more deeply understand what he’s going through.

When you do a “Doodle Painting” with your partner-
It’s not supposed to be pretty. And neither of you need to know how to draw.

It’s about noticing the feelings behind your squiggles, the hearts and the spirals.
It’s a safe space to doodle “FUCK YOU” then splatter paint…
to get to the bottom of your frustration.

In this particular doodle painting, Adam and I realized we feel happy.
This was strange because a few hours earlier we were in a fight,
frustrated by life circumstances that we cannot control.
We realized that although our environment is chaotic, and there is a lot to navigate-

I had a dream last night that Kali was dancing with her many arms,
spinning her web like a Spider.🕸️

I’ve never linked Spider Medicine with Goddess Kali’s mysteries.
But! They seem to go hand in hand.

Like the spider, Kali is hard to look at.
With her bloody fangs and many arms, Kali is the destroyer of illusion.
And the spider is known in shamanic traditions as an ancient symbol of power, mystery and growth.

Kali, as a spider, reminds us that we weave the web of our own lives.

This web is woven based on our beliefs…
including illusionary beliefs that we choose to incorporate into our environment.

Kali is the destroy of illusions!
And our modern age is filled with illusions.

Most of them stem from other’s people’s fears,
which lead to us feeling manipulated and controlled by others–
in the name of safety, love, or healing.

What have you been believing in that caused you to weave your web with illusions?

Are you trapping yourself in your own web?
Are you sucking the life out of yourself?

It doesn’t matter if other people are choosing to weave these illusions into their web,
This is your life and it’s time to KALI-CHOP the illusions out of your story.

Nowadays,
When I paint, I consider what will be most popular.
When I dance, I want to capture it on camera.
When I say something witty, I feel it needs to be written down for someone else to read.

And I wonder,
Is my creative impulse only for other people’s benefit?

No, it can’t be!

Because every time I create for OTHERS, a part of my soul dies.

But!
I still work on my book to be published.
I compile my videos to be sold for educational use.
I am creative, just to teach other people how to be creative…

Because I’ve been taught to believe,
my worth is in how much I can give.

10 years of hosting workshops later,
I’m having trouble tapping into my own creative style.
It’s been watered down and washed away-
to be more digestible for my target audience.

“But you’re Famous!”
“You’re parents approve of you now!”
“You’re making money.”
“You are helping people!”

I’m loosing myself….
Every time I get to this point.
I DESTROY everything I’ve built … to re-claim me.
